Facial Sculpting with Liposuction: What to Expect

If you are tired of seeing a double chin, jowls, or neck fat, liposuction could be the perfect treatment to resolve this aesthetic problem. It is a low-risk procedure, and if you are in good general health, it is likely you are a candidate. The procedure involves the following steps:

• The area to be treated will be numbed so you are comfortable.
• A tiny cannula (hollow needle) will be inserted in small incisions beneath the chin and earlobe.
• The cannula gently extracts the excess fat lingering on neck, along jawline, and beneath the chin.
• The small incisions are then closed with stitches.

The treatment involves minimal pain or side effects. It is not uncommon to experience minor swelling, bruising, or mild discomfort, which quickly fades. Full recovery time is typically between one to two weeks. A more sculpted look will be visible immediately but is even more attractive when residual swelling is gone, typically in about two weeks. Any minor pain can be easily managed with over-the-counter medication, and you may wear a chin strap to help reduce swelling.
