Restylane is a soft tissue injectable filler. It is made of synthetic hyaluronic acid, which is a complex sugar molecule naturally found in skin. The Restylane family of injectable products include Perlane, Restylane, and Restylane Fine Lines. Dr. Asaria and Dr. Alexander are a highly qualified expert in administering each of these and other types of fillers.

In the world of universal fillers, Restylane is a vanguard product, providing patients with an unprecedented ability to fill in areas that have lost elasticity or that become hollowed out. Made with a base of hyaluronic acid, Restylane does not conflict with your body’s chemical composition. This makes it a comfortable and natural source of cosmetic enhancement.

Dr. Asaria and Dr. Alexander use Restylane to provide volume to sunken areas, soften deep folds and produce a youthful, refreshed glow. At FACE Toronto, we do not believe in producing an over-corrected, artificial appearance. As experienced Restylane specialists, Dr. Asaria and Dr. Alexander combine exceptional technical skill with artistic vision to restore a youthful look. Great results take time to produce. That's why a large portion of your visit to our downtown Toronto clinic will consist of a detailed consultation to identify and address your goals.

Restylane treatment areas

When it comes to your face, Restylane can be a universal solvent, adding volume to areas that have lost collagen or hyaluronic acid. It is used for lip augmentation, non-surgical facelifts, non-surgical rhinoplasty and to treat folds and wrinkles throughout the face.

Length of treatment

The treatment typically takes about thirty minutes to complete. Restylane and Perlane are available in combination with a local anesthetic to make the injections very comfortable. There is no down time and the results are immediate. Dr. Asaria and Dr. Alexander follow every one of their patients very closely, and you will be seen in a follow-up in two weeks’ time to ensure your results are perfect.

How long does Restylane last?

Hyaluronic cosmetic injectibles such as Restylane are temporary fillers and last for different lengths of time depending upon where they are injected. In areas where there is less movement of the skin such as tear troughs and cheeks, Restylane will last for nine months to one year. In areas where there is more movement, such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines), Restylane tends to last for about six to nine months. The lips have the most movement, and fillers tend to last four to six months in this area.

Using Restylane as an Undereye Filler

Very few facial features can age you faster than having hollowed-out, sunken circles beneath your eyes. These dark circles are unsightly, and often get worse with time. In fact, this is one of the places where the face can begin to show the first signs of aging. After having tried many home remedies for these dark, undereye hollows, many patients seek the help of Dr. Asaria or Dr. Alexander at Face Toronto to resolve this aesthetic problem.

Restylane Treatments: Look Younger in Moments

Restylane works by adding volume to the area under the eyes, providing a youthful, fresh quality to the skin. Since Restylane is made from hyaluronic acid, it attracts moisture from the skin to plump the area and bring it back to life. When used to treat the hollows underneath the eye, it can be extremely effective at relieving dark circles and restoring volume that has been lost with time.

When injected carefully and correctly, Restylane gives your eyes a well-rested look – you will appear as if you have just awakened from a full night's sleep. As an undereye filler it can alleviate dark circles and the sunken, hollowed-out look that often comes with age, taking years off your facial appearance. What you are left with is a bright, refreshed look that is years younger – in just a short treatment.

Restylane as a Tear Trough Filler

The tear trough, also known as the nasojugal groove, begins at the inner corner of the eye, follows a line of an arc underneath the eye area, and ends at the outermost corner of your eye. In other words, it's the crescent-shaped areas that lives directly beneath your eyes. The most common cause of dark circles in this area is heredity, although dark circles may also develop as part of the aging process. Additionally, as we age the delicate skin in this area begins to lose volume and fullness, getting thinner and more translucent. This can cause dark circles and bags to appear – leaving you looking older and tired, even on your best days.

Collagen Loss: The Culprit.

As the skin ages, it loses the ability to produce the same levels of collagen. As the skin in the area under the eye is so very delicate, this is one of the first areas where you will see the effects of aging skin. The loss of collagen gives the skin a sunken, hollowed look and can cause the remaining skin to sag.

Restylane works to counteract this loss of collagen by providing natural-looking fullness and volume to undereye zone, or tear trough. Restylane is made from synthetic hyaluronic acid to attract moisture and provide a fresh, youthful fullness.

Restylane has a long track record for being ideally suited for use in the delicate tear trough, allowing it to stay in place after injection. The viscosity of Restylane provides the correct level of firmness to stay in the location into which it is injected rather than drifting, for a very natural-looking rejuvenating treatment for hollows beneath your eyes. Tired of looking tired? Talk to us about Restylane – it takes only moments to look refreshed, healthy, and younger.
