BBL is the world’s most powerful IPL (intense pulsed light) technology produced by Sciton. This IPL device uses light energy to address various skin concerns, such as sun damage, acne scars, pigmented lesions, fine lines, and other concerns.
The BBL device delivers wavelengths of light energy to highly-targeted treatment areas and skin depths. This encourages collagen production and skin cell regeneration and removes the superficial skin concerns. BBL is a non-invasive and gentle treatment without downtime or complications. We use the Observ technology to visualize your BBL results during the consultation.
At most, you might experience mild swelling or redness around the treatment areas. Most patients don’t experience any side effects and can wear makeup immediately.
The BBL results appear gradually as your body produces more collagen fibers and replaces the damaged skin with new skin tissues. The improvements gradually improve over 3 to 5 sessions scheduled 2 to 4 weeks apart. You may need 2 to 3 treatments per year to maintain the results.
Your BBL treatment starts with a private consultation with our exceptionally talented medical aesthetician, Miriam. She’ll examine your facial skin, review your medical history, and discuss your cosmetic goals. We also use a 3D imaging technology called Observ to take images of your face and produce a simulation of the treatment results. This allows you to visualize the final results beforehand. Our aesthetician will also walk you through the entire treatment process.
The aesthetician will cleanse the treatment areas and apply a clear numbing gel to ensure a comfortable experience. She’ll also mark specific cosmetic concerns and treatment areas, such as moles, pigmented lesions, etc. You’ll have to wear protective glasses for the treatment to ensure complete safety. Our aesthetician will move the BBL device over the treatment areas, delivering the targeted pulses of light into your skin. Depending on the treatment area, the entire process might take up to an hour.
A hydrating cream and sunscreen will be applied over the treatment areas to soothe and protect your skin. The treatment areas may look red and flushed for a few hours, but you can resume your daily activities immediately. The pigmented lesions and discolored spots will become darker over the next few days before flaking off or fading away. The results will gradually appear over 10 to 14 days or multiple BBL sessions. Besides wearing sunscreen, you don’t need to follow any other post-treatment guidelines.
BBL (Broadband Light) is the world’s most innovative intense pulsed light (IPL) technology developed by Sciton. This technology allows the medical aesthetician to target extremely precise areas and skin concerns, such as sun spots, pigmented lesions, etc., without damaging the surrounding skin. The treatment is extremely comfortable and easily fits into a busy schedule.
The BBL device delivers specific pulses of light energy into the upper layers of the skin. The light energy is absorbed by the pigmented lesions, broken blood vessels, and the spots caused by excessive melanin. The light energy gradually destroys the unwanted textural irregularities, making your skin appear smooth. The light energy can also be adjusted to penetrate into the deeper dermal layers, where it can encourage collagen production to make your skin appear smoother and younger.
The number of BBL treatments you need depends on your specific skin concerns and goals. Our highly-trained medical aesthetician, Miriam, will carefully assess your skin quality and use the Observ 3D imaging technology to chart the ideal treatment plan. Most patients need 3 to 5 sessions scheduled 2 to 4 weeks apart.
BBL is a non-invasive and non-surgical treatment with no severe side effects, complications, or aftercare guidelines. At most, you’ll be asked to wear an SPF 30 sunscreen when you go outdoors. Other than that, you can resume most of your daily activities and work immediately.
