Facial implants are commonly used to provide permanent refinement of the chin and cheek bones. An alternative to temporary injectable fillers, these implants provide a permanent solution to improving balance and harmony of the face. As a top Toronto cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Asaria is an expert in facial implant procedures.
For those seeking to remedy a flat or round appearance in the face, cheek implants can be used to create higher, more defined cheekbones, adding a desirable shape and dimension to the face. Similarly, a chin implant can be used to create a defined profile by improving a recessive chin and distinguishing the jawline.
Dr. Asaria uses a soft silicone material for his chin and cheek implants. The implants are placed right over the bone, underneath the muscles so that they are as stable as possible. The implants are designed to be long-lasting and do not need to be changed. If desired, however, the implants can easily be removed. Dr. Asaria often sculpts the implants to match them to your own anatomy and correct for any pre-operative asymmetries.
As a highly trained head and neck surgeon with extensive education in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Asaria is highly qualified to perform your cheek and chin implant procedure in Toronto.
When selecting a plastic surgeon, it is of the utmost importance that you choose one who truly understands the inner workings and anatomy of the human face. Too often, under-qualified surgeons address only the appearance of the face with little thought to anatomy, function and harmony.
This leads to the obvious, unnatural “done” look and can often cause later physical problems. With his in-depth knowledge of nasal and facial surgery, Dr. Asaria is properly qualified to surgical all aspects of face, inside and out. His true expertise ensures his cheek and chin augmentation patients always end up with beautiful, functional and lasting results.
Often times patients opt to undergo chin implant surgery in combination with cosmetic nasal surgery (rhinoplasty), to improve the overall balance of the face. A small, recessive chin can make the nose look larger than it actually is. Strengthening a weak chin also helps to balance to the face and can improve the appearance of the neck.
Dr. Asaria's Toronto chin augmentation surgery, or chin implant surgery, can also be performed in conjunction with other facial procedures, such as neck liposuction, facelift, or fat grafting.
The best way to determine whether a surgeon is capable of giving you the results you desire is to view his past work and results.

Implant surgery takes approximately one hour to complete and is done under a general anesthetic or intravenous sedation anesthesia. Dr. Asaria places the chin implant or cheek implants in a pocket just above the bone so that they are as secure and stable as possible. The implants are placed through small incisions in the mouth or chin. When necessary, Dr. Asaria will carve and sculpt chin implants to ensure they fit with and are compatible to each patient’s individual anatomy.
There can be some mild bruising and swelling in the region of the implant after the procedure. Most patients can return to work after five to seven days. Light exercise can be resumed after five days, and full activity (heavy exercise) can be resumed in seven to ten days.
